2009 Student Leadership Summit
November 13 - 14, 2009
Clyde Austin 4-H Camp - Greenville, TN

Each year, the Chancellor hosts an overnight leadership retreat for top student leaders. This year’s agenda promises to be an exciting one! Student leaders from across campus are nominated to attend the Student Leadership Summit on behalf of their respective organizations. The Summit will focus on training students to be responsible and contributing leaders. There will also be opportunities for team building and interaction with other student leaders, faculty, and senior administrative staff.

One of the highlights of the Summit is the Open Forum, which allows students to directly ask the Chancellor and his senior administrative staff questions. Additional activities include discussions on sustainability, diversity issues on campus, and organizational goal setting. Students will have an opportunity to get together with others from similar organizations on Saturday morning to discuss goals for the remainder of the year.

Our keynote speaker is a high profile, successful CEO, who will share his experiences and insights regarding leadership with students. Mark Emkes, CEO and President of Bridgestone Americas Holding, Inc., will be joining us on Saturday for this special event.

As a result of attending the Student Leadership Summit, campus student leaders will:

  • enhance their leadership skills
  • interact with other students, staff, and faculty
  • have the opportunity to raise concerns and ask questions of the Chancellor’s Staff
  • learn about a variety of student issues

If you have not yet registered, but would like to attend, please contact the Office of Student Orientation and Leadership Development at (865) 974-2435.

We look forward to seeing you for the annual Student Leadership Summit!
