2009 Clifton M. Jones Student Leadership Conference
University of Tennessee’s premier student leadership conference is taking place this year on Saturday, February 28, 2009, from 10am to 4pm in the University Center. The conference is free and open to all students who register. Registration is currently open online by following the link above. The conference is limited to the first 400 students who register so be sure to sign up soon!

This year students will be able to “shake up their leadership” by attending three different breakout sessions on a variety of different topics. Presentation topics in the past have included networking, learning about and improving your student organization, values and ethical leadership, leadership in the “real” world, keeping your meetings exciting, servant leadership, and many more.
Students will also have a chance to be inspired by the powerful words of conference keynote speaker, Tish Norman. Tish Norman is the founder of Transforming Leaders Now, an educational leadership and transformation consulting company. She has been educating students and other audiences on achieving great things for more than a decade. Tish is a contributing author of a motivational book titled From Mediocre to Magnificent which encourages women to take charge of improving their lives. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Kentucky State University and a Masters from Pepperdine.
This year, the Clifton M. Jones Student Leadership Conference will be featuring three distinct track options that students may elect to participate in. During each time-slot of the conference, track participants will have the opportunity to select from various programs that match the track goals. Each track will be capped at 50 participants. Tracks include: New Leader Track, Seasoned Leader Track, and the Women & Leadership Track. For more information about tracks, please contact our office.
Lunch will be provided to all conference participants as well as a free T-shirt and conference materials; dress is business-casual. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to develop your leadership skills. Whether you are new to UT or you’ve been involved in a variety of different Tennessee activities, this conference is a great place to meet new people and learn some things along the way.
