Matt Skirven, Graduate Assistant

Hailing from the great state of Virginia, Matt comes to UT as a first year graduate student in the College Student Personnel program and currently serves as a Student Orientation and Leadership Development graduate assistant advising the Ignite leadership program. Matt received his Bachelors of Science degree in Technical Communication from James Madison University in December 2006.

After graduating, Matt traveled to the Big Apple and worked as the Volunteer Services Coordinator for Boost Mobile RockCorps in Manhattan. He then moved to Seattle, Washington, to serve a term in an AmeriCorps program, City Year Seattle/King County Corps, and worked with youth in foster care.

After he graduates from UT, Matt hopes to continue working in higher education and supporting students in their growth and development.
