What is the most important piece of advice you would give new students?
- Take advantage of every opportunity to meet new people. You won’t regret it. Meeting people is the best way to open the door to endless opportunities at UT as well as form new lifelong friendships. Most importantly, go to campus events and put yourself out there. You have nothing to lose and it helps jump start your college experience.
How did you decide on your major?
- I chose my major mostly because I want to eventually go to med school. I found out during my orientation that being Biochemistry major will best prepare me for med-school and the MCAT test. It is a lot of work but it in the long run it will be worth it all.
What is your favorite place on campus?
- The Pedestrian Walkway between the library and the Humanities Building is my favorite place on campus. It definitely gives you a whole new perspective of campus that reassures you that you’re at the right school. You can see every part of campus including Neyland Stadium, the Hill, and McClung Tower, which all dominate UT’s landscape. You can take a trip back in time when walking the Pedestrian with the timeline engraved in the cement that stretches a good quarter of a mile.
