What is the most important piece of advice you would give new students?

  • I strongly recommend getting involved in campus activities. Along with joining organizations, take advantage of the multitude of events such as sports, theatre production, concerts, movies, and many other opportunities to socialize.

What is your most memorable UT experience so far?

  • When I was an incoming freshman I moved on campus. I was overwhelmed and anxious as to how was I was going to live with these strangers and b ea success at school. The first couple of weeks were tough; but, once I developed a routine and formed new friendships, I began to enjoy all that college has to offer.

What is your favorite extracurricular experience?

  • I currently serve as the secretary of the United Residence Halls Council. URHC’s main purpose is to organize and implement programs for residence hall students. Programs vary from Casino Night, participation in Vol Night Long and VolFest, monthly dinners for each hall, preparing and delivering student care packages, and numerous other activities. As members of the Executive Board, we spend a lot of time together overseeing and implementing these events. It is a wonderful leadership opportunity, but it is the friendships that I have made through URHC that I value the most.
