What is the most important piece of advice you would give new students?

  • The way to be the most comfortable and to have the best time is to get involved. I know that everyone says this cliché phrase millions of times, but it really is the most important key to success in college. When I was in high school, I used to ask college students this question, “If you could go back and redo your freshman year what would you do differently?” All of them said the same thing, “I should have done more clubs/sports.” Meeting people at these events opens social and academic doors that are priceless to any incoming freshman or transfer student.

What is your most memorable UT experience so far?

  • Not knowing a single person when I arrived at UT, I think one of the best days I ever had was my morning walk to class in October. Every few feet I had to stop to greet someone I knew. I kept running into friends. This may not seem like a big deal, but walking to class in August was much different.

What is your favorite place on campus?

  • The Law Library is my favorite place on campus because it is consistent in terms of being quiet and clean. It is a newer building and is very comfortable. It was very close to my residence hall (Clement), thus making it very accessible.
