Women's Leadership Programs

The purpose of these programs is to create a developmental environment for female students by providing mentoring relationships that will build institutional connections, foster a sense of belonging, promote women’s leadership, embrace an ethic of philanthropic commitment, and develop professional networks and skills to assist women with the transition to the workplace or graduate studies.

New for Spring 2009!

Women’s Mentoring Network (WMN) - A structured set of activities designed to develop mentoring relationships between female students and faculty and staff. Participants will be paired with a female faculty or staff member for positive guidance and mentorship. The program will include a matching process, training program, workshops, and recognition for program participants. Faculty, staff or students interested in this program should contact leader@utk.edu or (865) 974-2313 for more information and a registration form.This program is now full. Please consider participating in one of our other Womens' Leadership Programs listed below.

Dinner with Leaders (March 10, 2009 5:30-7:00pm) - Enjoy dinner with fellow female student and staff leaders and receive tips on ettiquette and professionalism from prominent women in the Knoxville community. This program is limited to the first 60 registrants. To register, please click here.

Leadership Workshops - Open to all students, these workshops will highlight various topics surrounding women and leadership. Upcoming Womens' Leadership Workshops include:

~Leadership Tools for Women, presented by Dr. Janet Kelly of The Howard H. Baker, Jr. Center for Public Policy

~Leadership and Emotional Intelligence, presented by Michele Stauffer, March 11, 2009 3:30-5:00pm in the Panhellenic Multipurpose Room.

~Young Professionals & Leadership, presented by Janet McKinley, March 26, 2009 12:30-2:00pm in the UC Shiloh Room.

~Ethical Decision Making & Values Assessment, April 2, 2009 2:00-3:30pm in the UC Shiloh Room.

~Women in Business, presented by Sarah Gardial, April 8, 2009 3:30-4:30pm in the UC Shiloh Room.

Sisterhood Retreat - Travel off-campus to learn about leadership, meet new people, and enjoy the company of other UT women.April 4th & 5th, 2009.
